PrimeXBT Overview

Established in 2018, PrimeXBT is a global multi-asset broker offering access to more than 350 CFDs across forex, indices, commodities, shares, and cryptocurrencies.

The broker features its proprietary PXTrader 2.0 web platform, allowing traders to access CFDs and Crypto Futures from a single account. In addition to the web platform, PrimeXBT supports the PrimeXBT Mobile App and MetaTrader 5 (MT5). An integrated crypto exchange also enables users to buy, sell, store, and exchange cryptocurrencies directly within the ecosystem.

During my evaluation, I found PrimeXBT’s trading fees to be mixed. The EUR/USD spread was exceptionally competitive, while Tesla and Bitcoin spreads were comparatively higher. Commodity spreads were broadly in line with industry averages. For active traders, the MT5 Pro account stands out with spreads from 0.1 pips, making it well suited to day traders and scalpers.

PrimeXBT’s market research offering is fairly limited, although funded accounts receive access to Trading Central technical analysis tools. The broker performs much better in education, providing an extensive library of trading guides, platform tutorials, and live webinars.

While creating the PrimeXBT review we found that PrimeXBT is a compelling option for traders seeking a unified multi-asset platform that combines crypto CFDs, crypto futures, and traditional CFD markets within a single trading ecosystem.

PrimeXBT Cons:

Who is PrimeXBT for?

While creating the PrimeXBT Review 2026, it became clear that the broker offers the features and tools to cater to a wide range of trading strategies. Here’s how it stacks up for different trader styles:

Beginner - Ideal Fit

PrimeXBT is an excellent choice for beginner and casual traders. Both the PXTrader 2.0 web platform and the PrimeXBT Mobile App feature a clean, intuitive interface that is easy to navigate. The broker also provides free demo accounts across all supported platforms, allowing users to develop their skills without risking real capital. During my evaluation, the 24/7 live chat delivered prompt and helpful responses. Beginners can also take advantage of educational resources, including written guides, video content, and live webinars.

PrimeXBT provides traders with a comprehensive economic calendar, along with regularly updated market analysis and commentary through its research portal, helping users stay informed about macroeconomic events and potential market catalysts.

However, PXTrader 2.0 lacks an integrated real-time news feed, meaning traders must rely on external news sources when reacting to breaking market events.

PrimeXBT offers several features that appeal to scalpers. The broker provides fast order execution, while both MT5 and PXTrader 2.0 include Depth of Market (DOM) functionality to help traders assess available liquidity at different price levels.

Additionally, PXTrader 2.0 incorporates VWAP pricing tools, giving active traders deeper insight into average execution prices and market flow during volatile trading sessions. However, PrimeXBT does not provide VPS hosting, which may be a drawback for scalpers seeking uninterrupted, ultra-low latency connectivity.

PrimeXBT is built primarily for active trading rather than traditional investing. The broker does not offer access to investment products such as real shares, ETFs, mutual funds, or bonds, making it less suitable for investors building diversified long-term portfolios.

However, traders interested in cryptocurrency investing can buy, hold, and exchange real cryptocurrencies directly through the platform.

PrimeXBT supports automated trading through the MetaTrader 5 platform. Traders can deploy Expert Advisors (EAs), perform strategy backtesting, and utilize MT5’s built-in algorithmic trading capabilities.

That said, the absence of VPS hosting means traders must rely on their own infrastructure if they require continuous 24/7 operation with minimal latency.

PrimeXBT is a solid option for swing traders who typically keep positions open for several days. The broker offers a broad selection of CFDs across forex, indices, commodities, and cryptocurrencies, making it easy to diversify across multiple markets.

Its swap fees are slightly better than average, helping to keep overnight holding costs reasonable for medium-term trading strategies. However, PrimeXBT does not offer real shares, and its share CFD selection remains relatively limited.

PrimeXBT provides the core features required for day trading. Both PXTrader 2.0 and MetaTrader 5 support fast execution, one-click trading, and chart-based order placement, enabling traders to respond quickly to changing market conditions.

On PXTrader 2.0, spreads are displayed directly within the order window, allowing traders to evaluate trading costs before opening a position. Meanwhile, the MT5 Pro account delivers competitive pricing, with EUR/USD spreads starting from around 0.2 pips, helping reduce costs for traders making frequent trades throughout the day.

PrimeXBT does not offer a copy trading service.

What Sets PrimeXBT Apart?

PrimeXBT distinguishes itself with a comprehensive crypto-focused trading ecosystem that combines real cryptocurrency investing, crypto CFDs, and crypto futures within a single account. This integrated approach allows traders and investors to move effortlessly between buying and holding digital assets, trading leveraged crypto CFDs, and accessing dedicated crypto futures markets – all without switching platforms or managing multiple logins.

Introduction to PrimeXBT Safety Measures

PrimeXBT operates through five global entities and implements established industry measures to safeguard client funds. The broker holds client capital in segregated accounts and offers negative balance protection, ensuring traders cannot lose more than their initial deposit. PrimeXBT is also a member of The Financial Commission, an independent dispute resolution organization that provides an extra layer of client protection. However, its operating entities are regulated in offshore and mid-tier jurisdictions, which generally provide less stringent oversight than top-tier financial regulators.

Cons:

PrimeXBT Regulation and Licensing

As part of our broker reviews, we assess the regulatory status of every entity operated by a broker to compare the level of client protection available. Our rating system classifies regulators into Tier-1, Tier-2, and Tier-3, with Tier-1 representing the highest level of regulatory oversight.

  • PXBT Capital Ltd is licensed and regulated by the Financial Services Commission (FSC) of Mauritius under License No. GB24203383. We classify the FSC as a Tier-3 regulator.
  • PrimeXBT Trading Services Ltd is incorporated under the laws of Saint Lucia with registration number 2024-00343. Although this entity is not regulated, it is a member of The Financial Commission.
  • PrimeXBT (Pty) Ltd is licensed and regulated by the Financial Services Conduct Authority (FSCA) of South Africa under license number 45697. We classify the FSCA as a Tier-2 regulator.
  • PrimeXBT Trading Services, S.A. de C.V. holds a Bitcoin Services Provider (BSP) license issued by the Banco Central de Reserva (BCR) of El Salvador. This entity does not provide CFD trading.
  • PXBT Trading Ltd is licensed and regulated by the Financial Services Authority (FSA) of Seychelles under license number SD162. We rate the FSA as a Tier-3 regulator.

Understanding Regulatory Protections for PrimeXBT Traders

PrimeXBT operates through multiple legal entities to serve traders worldwide, and the level of regulatory protection depends on the jurisdiction where your account is registered. Since regulatory standards vary between regions, it is important to understand the safeguards provided by the specific PrimeXBT entity you choose.

  • Compensation Scheme: PrimeXBT does not provide a government-backed compensation scheme. However, all clients have access to The Financial Commission, an independent dispute resolution organization that can award compensation in eligible cases.
  • Negative Balance Protection: Every PrimeXBT entity provides negative balance protection, preventing trading losses from exceeding your account balance. This safeguard is particularly valuable during periods of heightened market volatility, as losses are limited to the funds deposited into your trading account.
  • Segregated Client Funds: All PrimeXBT entities keep client funds in segregated bank accounts, separate from the broker’s operating capital. This reduces the risk of accounting errors and helps ensure that client money is not mixed with company funds.

How PrimeXBT Protects Your Funds

The level of client fund protection you receive depends on the PrimeXBT entity where your trading account is registered. Because the broker operates through multiple regulated entities across different jurisdictions, the available investor safeguards vary according to the regulatory framework governing each company.

Based on your country of residence, your account may include protections such as segregated client funds, negative balance protection, and, in certain jurisdictions, investor compensation schemes. These measures are designed to strengthen client security and provide additional protection if the broker is unable to meet its financial obligations.

The comparison table below outlines the investor protection available under each PrimeXBT entity, making it easier to understand which safeguards apply to your account before you start trading.

Stability and Transparency of PrimeXBT

As part of the Safety assessment, each broker is evaluated based on its stability, operating history, and transparency. These factors help determine the broker’s overall credibility and the amount of information it makes available to clients.

Founded in 2018, PrimeXBT has a moderate operating history within the online trading industry. According to its LinkedIn profile, the company employs between 201 and 500 staff, indicating a mid-sized operation.

PrimeXBT publishes its corporate and regulatory information in a transparent manner. Details about its operating entities are available in both the website footer and on a dedicated Regulation page. Trading costs are clearly displayed in the Fees and Conditions section, while additional legal information, including the full Terms and Conditions, can be found in the Legal Documents area.

Overall, PrimeXBT demonstrates an average level of transparency, although greater clarity regarding the broker’s primary operating location would further improve transparency.

Is PrimeXBT Safe to Trade With?

Yes, PrimeXBT can be considered a safe broker to trade with. The broker implements several important client protection measures, including segregated client funds, negative balance protection, and membership in The Financial Commission. It also maintains an adequate level of transparency by publishing its regulatory information, trading fees, and legal documentation. However, prospective clients should be aware that PrimeXBT operates under limited regulatory oversight compared to brokers licensed by Tier-1 regulators.

Key reasons why PrimeXBT is considered safe:

  • Member of The Financial Commission
  • All entities segregate client funds
  • Negative balance protection across all entities
  • Adequate corporate and regulatory transparency
  • Limited regulatory oversight compared to Tier-1 brokers

Mt5 Charts

PrimeXBT’s MetaTrader 5 (MT5) charting package is built to support traders who rely on technical analysis and precision trade execution. Whether analysing short-term price movements or planning longer-term trades, MT5 provides a comprehensive range of charting tools suitable for both beginner and advanced traders.

Key Charting Features

Technical Indicators: MT5 includes 38 built-in technical indicators, covering trend-following indicators, oscillators, and volume-based tools to help traders analyse market conditions and identify potential trading opportunities.

Drawing Tools: Traders have access to 44 drawing tools, including Fibonacci retracements, Gann tools, and Elliott Wave analysis, making it easier to identify support and resistance levels, chart patterns, and key price zones.

Timeframes & Chart Types: MT5 supports 21 timeframes, allowing traders to perform detailed multi-timeframe analysis. Charts can be displayed as candlesticks, bar charts, or line charts, depending on individual trading preferences.

Usability Considerations

Although MT5 offers a broad selection of analytical tools, applying too many indicators or drawings simultaneously can make charts more difficult to interpret. Maintaining a clean workspace often leads to clearer market analysis and more effective decision-making.

Why PrimeXBT MT5 Charting Stands Out

The MetaTrader 5 platform at PrimeXBT delivers a powerful combination of advanced charting, flexible analysis tools, and reliable performance. Mt5 Orders
PrimeXBT review image showing how to place orders and open trades on MT5 trading platform.

PrimeXBT’s MetaTrader 5 (MT5) platform is designed to provide fast, accurate, and flexible order execution, making it suitable for a wide range of trading styles. Whether you’re day trading, scalping, or running automated trading strategies, MT5 offers the tools needed to execute and manage positions with confidence.

Types of Orders Available

Market Orders: Open positions immediately at the best available market price. Although the requested trade volume is filled, the final execution price may vary slightly due to real-time market movement, a phenomenon known as slippage.

Limit Orders: Set a specific price at which you want to enter the market. The order is executed only if the market reaches your chosen level, giving you greater control over trade entries.

Stop Orders: Automatically trigger a market order once a predetermined price is reached. These orders are commonly used as stop-losses to help manage risk and reduce potential losses during volatile market conditions.

Enhanced Execution Tools

In addition to its standard order types, PrimeXBT MT5 supports one-click trading, allowing positions to be opened and closed directly from the chart with minimal delay. This functionality is particularly valuable for active traders who depend on rapid execution.

Why PrimeXBT MT5 Execution Stands Out

The MetaTrader 5 platform at PrimeXBT combines advanced order functionality with reliable execution, making it well suited to both manual and algorithmic trading. What Are CFDs and How to Trade Them

A Contract for Difference (CFD) is a derivative agreement between a trader and a broker based on the price movement of an underlying asset. Rather than purchasing the asset itself, the trader settles the difference between its opening and closing prices when the CFD position is closed.

CFD trading allows traders to speculate on a wide range of markets, including forex, stocks, commodities, indices, and cryptocurrencies, without taking ownership of the underlying instruments.

CFDs can be used to take positions in either direction. Traders can go long when expecting prices to rise or go short when anticipating a decline. The flexibility of CFDs also makes them useful for leveraged trading, portfolio diversification, and applying different strategies across multiple asset classes while accessing global markets through platforms such as PrimeXBT.

Understanding CFD Leverage on PrimeXBT

CFD leverage allows traders to control positions that are larger than the amount of capital available in their trading account. By using borrowed funds, traders can increase their market exposure without providing the full value of the position themselves.

Under the PXBT Trading Ltd entity, PrimeXBT offers maximum leverage of 1:2000. For example, a $1,000 account could control positions worth up to $2,000,000 in the market at the maximum leverage level.

A leverage ratio this high represents a significant level of risk. Leverage can magnify the potential outcome of a trade in either direction, increasing both potential profits and potential losses. Traders should therefore understand the risks involved before using high leverage.

What Leverage Does PrimeXBT Offer?

PrimeXBT publishes regular fundamental analysis, technical commentary, and weekly market outlooks through its website. The content is generally clear, well structured, and timely, although the overall depth and variety of the research are relatively limited compared with some competitors.

Week Ahead Reports

The Week Ahead reports provide concise coverage of important economic events and potential market drivers. They explain what traders should watch, why each event matters, and how upcoming developments could influence trading conditions.

Watchlists and Economic Calendar

Traders can access several client portal watchlists, including trending assets, top gainers, and top losers, making it easier to monitor market momentum. PrimeXBT also provides a detailed economic calendar covering important data releases and events, helping traders prepare for periods of potentially increased volatility.

Trading Central

PrimeXBT also provides access to Trading Central, a third-party research provider offering trading ideas and technical pattern analysis. This feature is available to funded accounts only, providing eligible traders with additional market insights.

Key Takeaways for Traders Using PrimeXBT Research

Overall, PrimeXBT’s research offering is average for the industry. Its written market analysis, Week Ahead reports, watchlists, and economic calendar provide useful resources for market research and trade idea generation, particularly for crypto-focused traders.

The main limitation is the lack of video-based analysis, which may be a drawback for traders who prefer faster, more visual market updates.

Final Thoughts on PrimeXBT

Founded in 2018, PrimeXBT is a modern multi-asset broker offering over 350 CFDs and Crypto Futures, alongside access to real cryptocurrencies. Clients benefit from segregated accounts, negative balance protection, and Financial Commission membership, although the broker’s overall regulatory coverage is moderate.

Platforms and Trading Experience

PrimeXBT provides several trading platforms through a single interface, including PXTrader 2.0, the PrimeXBT mobile app, and MetaTrader 5 (MT5). PXTrader 2.0 features a clean and intuitive design that makes it well suited to everyday trading. The addition of one-click trading and TradingView charts further enhances its appeal to day traders and scalpers.

Fees and Trading Conditions

Trading costs vary depending on the account type and instrument. EUR/USD and gold spreads are competitive, while spreads on indices and Bitcoin CFDs are wider. The MT5 Pro account offers the most competitive pricing, with spreads starting from 0.1 pips and no commissions.

Funding is also straightforward, with no deposit, withdrawal, or inactivity fees, helping to keep non-trading costs low.

Education and Research

PrimeXBT provides an above-average selection of educational resources, including videos, articles, and webinars. Funded clients can also access Trading Central insights, providing additional trading ideas and market analysis.

PrimeXBT Pros and Cons

PrimeXBT combines a broad range of instruments with modern trading platforms and competitive pricing on selected markets. Its PXTrader 2.0 platform, tight spreads on EUR/USD and gold, and useful educational resources make it a strong option for beginners and casual traders.

However, the broker has some limitations. The range of stock CFDs is limited, while phone support and VPS hosting are not available. PXTrader 2.0 also lacks an integrated news feed. In addition, share CFDs and Bitcoin CFDs can have high spreads, which may be less suitable for traders who focus heavily on these instruments.

Overall Verdict

Overall, PrimeXBT is a flexible and modern multi-asset broker providing access to CFDs and futures through a single login. Its intuitive PXTrader 2.0 platform, competitive pricing on selected instruments, broad cryptocurrency offering, and educational resources create a well-rounded trading environment. However, traders who prioritise share CFDs, Bitcoin trading, integrated news, or telephone support should consider these limitations before choosing the broker.
